How to Increase Your Chances of Getting a Russian Visa
How to Increase Your Chances of Getting a Russian Visa
Solution
There are some general rules, that will increase your chances of getting a visa to Russia.
1) If you're traveling on a tourist visa, the purpose of your travel is "tourism". If you're traveling on a business visa, the purpose is "business" or "establishing business contacts". If you say you're visiting your friends, they may refuse the visa (cause they'd want to see a private invite in this case, even though you're a tourist).
2) If you're getting a tourist visa to Russia, you should have hotels booked for the whole period of your stay. This little paper you get (the visa support aka invitation) is basically a confirmation from a travel agency that they are arranging your trip and reserving the hotels for you. They also list the cities you visit and specific hotels in these cities. The fee you pay is basically a reservation fee for your trip. Some companies then bind you to the itinerary in your invitation, some -- don't. The ones that we advertise on Way to Russia offer complete flexibility to travelers.
3) You should remember that it's not Way to Russia issuing your visa support, but the company that's written on the invitation. We don't provide any services by ourselves, but always refer our readers to thoroughly controlled advertisers. These are various companies that are monitored by our quality managers on a daily basis. So in each case you should look at your invitation and at the top right corner you'll see which company issued your visa support, what their address and reference number are, and specify it in the application. If you write "way to russia" in your visa application, you won't get your visa, because it's not written "way to russia" on your invitation and it's not us issuing your invitation.
4) Always be consistent with the information provided in your visa support when you apply for a visa. If you said you'd visit Moscow and St. petersburg but then specify Vladivostok in your application, then they might have additional questions for you...
Once you get your visa, don't worry about the cities you listed in your invitation -- they won't be written on your visa itself. The only thing you should worry about is that you have to cross the Russian border within the time span of your visa and register it, where it's required. That's it.
